Tehran’s response to IAEA resolution to be firm, proportionate

Iran’s response to the resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) against the country is firm and proportionate, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reported via Twitter on Wednesday.

"The initiators are responsible for the consequences. Iran’s response is firm and proportionate," he commented on the resolution.

"US-E3 (France, the UK and Germany) put their shortsighted agenda ahead of IAEA’s credibility by pushing a miscalculated and ill-advised resolution against a country with the world’s most transparent peaceful nuclear program," the diplomat noted.

Russian Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov said earlier on Wednesday that the majority of 35 member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors has voted for adoption of the resolution on Iran, which criticizes it for failing to explain the presence of uranium particles at three undeclared facilities. China and Russia voted against the resolution.
